There are so many things that someone can do if an earthquake happened. In case an earthquake happened, there are so many things that my family would do in order to be in safe hands. The first things that we would do is if we are indoors, stay close to a wall or go under a table or desk and hold on tight to the legs. Afterwards, we would head outside making sure we did not leave anyone behind and head to where our emergency kit is at. We will stay there for a while just in case there is a stronger aftershake. If there isn't an aftershake, we will head inside, but we will be more careful. If we were out doors, then there will be a different strategy. First we will make sure we are all together. Then we will try to stay away from buildings. We do this because if the earthquake is strong enough the building can fall on us and we can die. We will also try to stay away from power lines and anything that can fall on us. If driving we will need to get away from traffic and avoid parking under or on a bridge. Also, try to avoid trees and other things that may fall.
Since there have been many earthquakes in these recent days, we have removed most frames from the wall. We have done this so that, in case one is standing near a wall, a frame won't fall on them and cause an accident. Also, as you will see in the video above, we have emergency supplies in our garage. For example, we have enough water to last us at least three days in our house for my five family members. Water is important so that we can stay hydrated and healthy. We also cereal, canned food, and packaged fruit so that we won't be hungry. Of course, if we eat we will eventually need to use the restroom -or in this case a bucket. A bucket will be used in case we need to release our wastes. Toilet paper is also included to keep clean. another item that can keep my family and myself clean is hand sanitizer. that's not the only thing that I have that will help us survive. We also have extra clothes for each of my family members to keep ourselves warm. Blankets will also keep us warm. another item we have is a first aid kit. This first aid kit also consits of rubbing alcohol to clean cuts, a flashlight, extra batteries, hydrogen peroxide, and garbage bags to put our trash in there. Having all of these materials ready in case of an emergency is important because they are tools for survival.
